Team 7-2 Family Night
Students, families and friends of Team 7-2 are invited to Family Night on Thursday, May 24, 2012, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm in room B11. Teachers will discuss what is expected of the students for the rest of this semester and what students will experience in 8th grade.
A summer reading list will be distributed and students will be given tips on how to use libraries.
Refreshements will be served.
5/31/12 Team 7-3 Awards Night
Students and their families are invited to the Invincibles' Awards Night on Thursday, May 31, 2012, in the auditorium from 5 pm to 6 pm.
6/14/12 8th Grade Awards Night
Families and friends are invited on Thursday, June 14, 2012, to the auditorium to celebrate the accomplishments of the 8th grade students of San Fernando Middle School.
The fun begins at 5:30 pm.
Refreshments will be served.
Rock the CSTs
On June 14, 2012 the group A.C.T.I.V.E. will be performing in the auditorium. Get ready to experience the latest music and dance moves out there! SFMS is celebrating our high attendance, gains in academic achievement and increase in positive behaviors. We expect all students to continue to come to school and to arrive to each class on time, all the way to June 19.
Master Plan Instructional Program Meeting - 4/26/12
Students, parents and community members are invited to attend a Master Plan Instructional Program Meeting on Thursday, April 26, 2012, from 4:30 - 530 pm. This meeting will cover Identification of English Learners, Program Options, Elementary and Secondary Program Differences, and Reclassification. May 2 - Family Night for Team 8-1
Students, parents, and family members of Team 8-1: Join us for an afternoon of fun and festivities. Our team will be holding an Ice Cream Social/CST Pep Talk Family Night on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 5:00-6:30pm in the student cafeteria. Play exciting games, make your own yummy ice cream sundaes, win prizes and have a great time! We hope to see you there! EL Saturday School Program to Begin at San Fernando Middle School April 14, 2012
A Saturday bootcamp, for our English learners taking the May CST, will be held over four Saturdays: April 14, 21, 28, and May 5, 2012. Applications have been mailed home to our invited students. For more information Contact Mr. Lovo (818) 837-5404.

ELA Teachers
Write from the Beginning & Beyond: Thinking Maps Training Day 1
All ELA teachers are invited to attend this training on Saturday, June 9, 2012 from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm in the library. This training will focus on the narrative unit.
REVISED CST Test Administration Assignments
Please see revised test administration assignments. Revision to assignments is due in part to the large number of students enrolled in period 1 PE and electives.
CST Test Administration 2012
Preparation for the annual CST testing is underway. Please see the attachments which include grade-level testing calendars, bell schedules, and teacher assignments. On Tuesday, May 1, 2012, we will meet in the Student Cafeteria at 2:15 p.m. to view the testing video. Following the video, teachers will meet in their teams. The scheduled after school faculty meeting has been cancelled to permit period-by-period meetings on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 in Rm. S104. Teachers will attend during their conference period. Teachers, who must cover a class during their conference period on Wednesday, will need to attend after school at 3:40 p.m.
Discipline Plan Committee
SFMS Discipline Plan Committee will meet Wednesday, March 28 at 7:45 am in the Library. We will be reviewing and revising the school's current Discipline Plan components and compiling them into one comprehensive Discipline Plan.
Mandatory Child Abuse Training Tuesday, February 21, 2012

Kagan Coaching Comes to San Fernando Middle School
